Celebrating the one year countdown of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, on August 8, 2007 Consulate General of China in Cebu participated in the global simultaneous mailing of the souvenir envelops. Hon. He Shijing, Chinese Consul General in Cebu, wrote the following words of commemoration: "Amazing Olympics, Athletic China" on the souvenir envelops with Philippine sporting stamps, and sent them to the post office to be sealed and put them into the mailbox bound for Beijing.
