Hong Kong SAR Legislative Councillor Choy So Yuk, JP Paid a Courtesy Call on Consul General Cui Luosheng

On the morning of July 10, Hong Kong SAR legislative councillor Choy So Yuk, JP and Ms. Helen Chan, Assistant Director of the Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR, accompanied by a leader of Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the heads of some Cebu Fil-Chinese communities, paid a courtesy call to Chinese Consul General Cui Luosheng in Cebu.

Consul General warmly welcomed Councillor Choy and Assistant Director Chan, and extended his personal thanks to the accompanying leader of Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry for its contribution to promoting Chinese language education in the Philippines and strengthening the Sino-Fil friendly cooperation. He said Councillor Choy's visit is a down-to-earth act of marketing Hong Kong and serving the overseas Chinese compatriots. The meeting held on the evening of July 9 was rather positive and helpful. The words of the local Chinese showed their keen love and great concern toward Hong Kong. Councillor Choy thanked Consul General Cui for providing assistance to her visit and the meeting. She said that the major target of her visit is to brief the overseas Chinese compatriots on the advantages of Hong Kong in its financial system, investment policies and environment etc., so as to attract more compatriots to start their business in Hong Kong.

Thereafter Ms. Chan exchanged views on issues concerning Hong Kong visa and entry permit with Consul General Cui and the officials in charge of visa affairs in the consulate.
