Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Teodoro Ribera of Chile

On November 23, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Minister Teodoro Ribera of Chile on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Nagoya.

Wang Yi asked Teodoro Ribera to convey President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to President Sebastian Pinera. Wang Yi expressed, as the host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation this year, Chile has done a great deal of effective work in promoting economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific. The Chinese side supports the Chilean side's efforts to restore public order and believes that the Chilean government and people are capable of maintaining national stability. The Chinese side has full confidence in Chile's development prospects and the future cooperation between the two countries, and is ready to work with the Chilean side to further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

Teodoro Ribera conveyed President Sebastian Pinera's sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. He said, the Chilean side remains committed to promoting Asia-Pacific economic cooperation and thanks the Chinese side for the understanding and support for the Chilean side. The Chinese government has always prioritized people's interests and needs and made notable achievements in learning of people's demands and improving people's livelihood. For the Chilean side, relevant practices and experience of the Chinese side are worth learning. The Chilean side attaches great importance to developing friendly cooperative relations with China, and hopes to continue to maintain high-level exchanges with the Chinese side and expand cooperation in trade and agriculture as well as other areas for the benefits of the two peoples.
