Li Keqiang Meets with 41 Newly-appointed Diplomatic Envoys of Foreign Countries and Representatives of International Organizations to China

On the afternoon of September 30, 2019, Premier Li Keqiang met with 41 newly-appointed diplomatic envoys of foreign countries and representatives of international organizations to China at the Great Hall of the People on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Li Keqiang welcomed all diplomatic envoys to China on their assumption of the new posts in China. He shook hands respectively and had warm talks with them. Speaking positively of new cooperation progress made between China and related countries and international institutions, Li Keqiang asked the diplomatic envoys to pass on his sincere greetings and sound wishes to their state leaders, people and leaders of institutions.

Li Keqiang expressed, this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and the Chinese government and people will hold grand celebrations. China attaches great importance to developing friendly and cooperative relations with other countries and international institutions. On the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment, China is willing to increase political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and intensify people-to-people and cultural exchanges with relevant parties in order to achieve win-win cooperation, constantly elevate the bilateral relations to higher levels and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Li Keqiang hoped that all diplomatic envoys to China will give full play to their roles as bridges and bonds to actively carry out work in order to deepen the cooperation and friendship between China and their own countries or institutions. The Chinese government is willing to facilitate and support the work of all diplomatic envoys to China.

Li Keqiang pointed out, China contributes to building a peaceful global environment, and to global development, and helps uphold the international order. China is willing to work with relevant countries and institutions to safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core and the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization as the core. China is willing to safeguard multilateralism and free trade, promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, expand common interests, and join hands to cope with challenges, in a bid to contribute to long-term regional and world peace and common prosperity.

The diplomatic envoys from various countries and institutions offered their warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on behalf of their leaders, as well as sincere greetings to the Chinese people. They highly valued the historic development achievements made by the People's Republic of China over the past 70 years and also wished the Chinese people greater success in realizing the two centenary goals. They said that their nations and institutions attach great importance to developing relations with China and are willing to expand practical cooperation with the Chinese side in fields across the board, and strengthen communication and coordination in international and regional affairs. They are willing to make unremitting efforts in their new posts to push forward bilateral relations and enhance mutual friendship.

Later, the foreign diplomatic envoys to China were invited to the reception in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
